Thanks Sarah. Trying to learn how things work. Nice of you to reach out.
I have a project idea - but being a newbie I have no idea whether it would work or how to proceed. Games with customizable avatars (that could look like the person playing) for adults and teen with intellectual disabilities that help teach life skills like - how to tell strangers from acquaintances, workplace comportment, how to keep your room tidy etc.
I think this is a good idea. You must be confident that there is something to teach that is very effective and very gamifiable in that field. I'm in the same boat as far as having no idea whether my project would work or how to proceed, but being confident that there is a lot of potential in the concept. Mine would be a game that would help people with psychological (rather than intellectual) difficulties. My first hurdle is how would the project be funded, before its established that the game is appealing or helpful. Do you know how you're going to try to surmount that hurdle yet? I was thinking maybe creating a small version of the game, putting it online and marketing it a little bit for free, then using the response to that (assuming its a good response) to get venture capital to make a larger game for sale? I don't know. What's your idea for how to monitize it, if you don't mind me asking?
