My friends just started this site a few weeks ago. It’s a collection of educational kids games from all over the internet. The idea is that they hand pick these games, then kids or parents can find games they like, play them, rate them, leave comments, etc. A number of the games were created by one of my pals at Fun 4 the Brain.

It’s nice to see games where our kids can take something away from the game instead of just being mind-numbing. NPS especially has some neat kids activities.

Wow. That site is nice. It’d be interesting to see them ordered in various ways, for example by which ones are played the most, or which ones are liked the most to get a sense for which to check out if you only have time to play a few.

Great find! I’m gonna tweet about it.

Cool. I’ll let them know your suggestions! I can never think of any ideas, even though I’ve been asked. Hah..

Yeah – if any of you are on Twitter I’ll mention you by handle and that way you’ll see other’s feedback/thoughts too.

I set up a twitter account for them here: http://twitter.com/gamesalotorg

    I think it’s being used.

Nathan, your idea for ordering games was really good. I think they’re already working on a new home page that will have featured, popular, and various ways of ordering the games.

I know they really want parent’s input too. So I suggested making a forum like this one where kids and parents can post / converse.

Glad they liked it! Tell them to definitely consider jumping onto Gameful for their parent/kids conversation. It’d be great to have a lively educational games discussion here.

That’s a good idea. I think want to keep it on their site, but I’ll let them know.

Being the programmer has its benefits when you mention things to people. Haha..

Thanks for sharing this site. I’ve been looking for some good “academic” online games for kids that are fun.

I passed the site along to my daughter’s teacher (gr. 3 – Farm Freak Out will be perfect) and will get my daughter to use it for practice at home. I’ll let you know what she thinks!

Cool, that’s great. There are a lot of good (and educational) games on the site. Obviously the newer ones are more apparent, but I find that even the older ones can still be a lot of fun. =)
