    Hi All,
I’m working on a game for career development for which I have decided to take a PERMA[0] perspective. The main reason for designing the service as a game is that traditional career development processes are not fun and tedious. I’m stumped on finding mechanics for creating Positive Emotions – the feel good factor. I bet some people here have encountered this challenge and would appreciate your help.

Can you tell a little more about your goals for the game?

    Hi Rick,
The goals of the game are to get people to discover their interests, build passion for their careers and build skills. The game is played by taking on activities much like the ‘challenges’ on gameful.

I just figured music generally evokes positive emotions. I should probably find a way to incorporate it.

Just a thought, but it could be an idea to make a game about a lost kid. He has to find his way back to something (home/school) and you can provide challenges on the way.

For example to get some directions from a stranger he first wants you to answer some questions about your interests. Or you have to solve some kind of puzzle before you get access to a map.

What exactly are the people that are going to play the game? Are they kids on high school? What platform do you wanna use?

The target audience is high-school grads and college students. I have to update the list of goals to include “Promote life-long learning & engagement”. This requires the game to be perpetual. It strikes me that the game might be able to use several themes progressively based on the same game engine.

The platform for the game will be predominantly web.
