    I’m having the same problem.
    There isn’t an option called “Load a profile picture” and in the nearest alternative “Upload an Avatar” the “Upload Now” button just links back to the page without actually uploading anything.

    Well, upon investigating your claim I also lost my current avatar. I was able to change it once successfully, but changing it back caused an error which deleted my avatar. I’ve passed on the problem, hopefully it will be fixed soon.

    If you sign up for a Gravatar, you can fix the problem. I signed up for one, but it didn’t show up right away so I picked a file from my computer and clicked on the “upload avatar” button and then the Gravatar avatar started showing up properly (just don’t actually override it with something from your computer or the little grey guy will return – basically ignore the crop step).

    We will continue to work on a proper fix.

    Seems it’s fixed now. At least, I could upload a profile picture.

    I can’t upload a picture. When I find a file, the upload button doesn’t activate. If I click it anyway, I get a big red error box. : (

    I can’t continue to play or level up until I can accomplish this seemingly easy task. : ( I’ve tried different types of images, sizes and ownership. Nothing has worked. Please help.

    Here is the error message I get:
    Upload Failed! Error was: Unable to create directory /home/natron/domains/gameful.org/public_html/wp-content/uploads/avatars/14483. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    I am also seeing errors when I read posts in my Activity page. (I can read them fine, but the error message appears below the message.

    Why is there not a simple “help” button or contact admin page? This is bumming me out, dude.

    It looks like this thread has been idle for 2 months, which is not a good sign that things are being fixed.

    If this site is broken this bad for this long, it should be turned off. It’s a waste of my time thrashing around due to a bug that has been reported but not fixed for 6 months.
