    Drew,
I am interested in your thoughts on teaching students to “learn how to learn.” Maybe an example of this is giving students pieces of information and allowing them to connect the dots to learn the lesson? Or teaching them how to best make use of their resources?

There has been a lot of forward looking contemplation in the game development community about whether educational games will eliminate the need for teachers.  Afterall, an aptly constructed game that challenges a student at their ability level and offers immediate feedback on their performance with built-in explanations of the problems offers faster and better differentiation [...]

I’m actually developing a slightly different RPG game from my original concept using Unity3D. The students will have to search a tropical island for problems (from the state test released questions) and choose the correct multiple choice. If someone doesn’t understand the problem, they can play a mini-game (similar to math blasters or number crunchers [...]

The game concept sounds so interesting, but I can’t get to your link!

Kodu Curriculum: Math Module makes me wish I taught little kids. Maybe, they will develop a cool math & game design teaching tool for high school classes next? http://bit.ly/9nf8pp

You could assign each student a number and use a random number generator to pick the winners. There are several interesting ones here:

My friend and I have been trying to figure out how to compare scores. How were you able to? I can’t wait until codeacademy opens up courses to more languages.

I had set a whole Sat. aside a few months back to bang on codeacademy. I finished it in 20 minutes and was so bummed! Glad to see there are new courses!
Looks like you have a higher score than me!

Neat! How would your game work? I tutor some on the side and I’m learning C# from a RPG programming book. I’m a newbie at game creation, but I would love to eventually create a simulation based educational game. The students could participate in investigations that would be difficult to create in a classroom to [...]

I’m a math teacher in Silicon Valley and I’m brainstorming ways to integrate game creation in my classroom instruction. I asked my students what kind of math video game they would like to play. I heard many different ideas, but almost all of the students expressed an interest in engaging multiple choice style games. Many students [...]

Activism is a kind of game. I’ve done some voter registration, door to door canvassing, flyering, and canvassing college campuses for different causes. There is a type of competition involved in registering enough voters, employing and managing staff, and collecting enough signatures and donations to make a difference towards your cause. The results of your [...]

I’ve found several lesson plans online that integrate Angry Birds into teaching physics and parabolas. Here’s a cute video with a cursory explanation of parabolas explained by the Angry Birds:
