One of the issues that faces nearly any project is funding, so apart from selling your soul or your lively possessions, another option can be funding grants.

  • Many local governments offer small-business start up grants, check with your relevant governments for more info (and post the details here)
  • Canada has new media grants for artists at various funding levels. Canadian arts council, Provincial Arts councils (depending on province) and city arts councils.
  • Victoria State Government (Australia) offers up to $100,000 AUD ($101.4k USD at 4 Nov 2010) on a number of conditions
 - If a single developer, then you must have lived in Victoria for at least 6 months
 - If a business, your business must have been based in Victoria for at least 6 months
 - The grant applied for either individual or business must not total more than 50% of the game's total budget
