A Mayor's List of Things at Work!
The Mayor claims to be working hard on the construction of our fair city. We seek:
- A list, in order of importance, of the mayor's priorities.
- A timeline of when these things are expected to be done.
Make the Invisible Visible!
Our current challenge: make the invisible visible. And yet, we don't see this in Gameful.
- Who is in charge here?
- Who is building and maintaining this thing?
- Who are the individuals running the site?
- Who is building and maintaining this thing?
- An informal idea of responsibilities is important to any growing community.
- Some sort of phonebook/facebook tells us who to call (ghost busters?)
- We also still lack a list of the 'board of directors'.
- What is the future direction for this site and the organization behind it?
Is this site open-source?
If it is:
- What technology/tools are in use? (vcs, serverside-frameworks, js-libraries)
- What key persons are there?
- Are there repositories one can clone and commit changes to?
If it isn't:
- Why not?
- How else one can contribute in a practical way?
Search function!
There does not appear to be an effective search tool for the forums/groups.
Yes, all us brilliant change-the-world-with-computers types are supposed to know the google "Site:" search,
but...really? I'd like to be able to search for collaborators in my local area,
and contacts I may not know are on Gameful.org,
even though the internet allows me to communicate with anyone anywhere in the world.
Profile info!
We're all about games, but how about room for a little not-game-centered profile information?
There are some really cool people on here from diverse backgrounds. Let's get a quick feel for who they are
without having to troll the forums or visit a personal site page.
Visit a little less randomly
Having the option to visit a completely random group or member's page is a fun idea for the new monsters; but, as with any social site, a lot of members and groups are now inactive and have been so for a while.
Let's stick a filter on those options so that it doesn't pull up pages that have been dead for months.
